SUWAŁKI TOURIST ORGANIZATION (SOT)

The Suwałki Tourist Organization was established in 2006. It associates legal and private persons interested in the promotion of the region at home and abroad.

The Suwałki Tourist Organization was established in 2006. It associates legal and private persons interested in the promotion of the region at home and abroad. The mission of the SOT includes support and initiation of projects essential to the development of the region and building its brand.

SOT objectives:

  1. promotion of the region in Poland and abroad
  2. creation and popularization of the brand of Suwałki Region as an attractive destination for tourists
  3. initiation and support of projects essential for the development of the region.

SOT implements its statutory objectives through marketing activities benefitting the region, in particular:

a/ integration of local governments of business, vocational and educational organizations, as well as persons, institutions and organizations interested in the development of tourism in the region; 

b/participation in developing plans for tourism development and modernization of the tourism infrastructure;

c/ collection, storage and processing of year-round tourist industry data;

d/ organization or participation in trade fairs, promotional events, meetings and trainings;

e/ undertaking measures to increase the number of tourists visiting the region and the share of income from the tourism industry in the regional economy;

f/ undertaking measures to improve the tourism infrastructure in the region;

g/ undertaking measures for the development of tourism for the disabled;

h/ cooperation with tourist organizations at local, regional, national and international levels;

i/ coordination of the promotional activities undertaken in the region;

j/ creating a platform for cooperation of tourist operators with the regional and national authorities
